This cassette acted as a cryptic prelude to Babel, which would emerge on 09/30/2019. It presented the album’s structure in skeletal form—its songs reduced to their most minimal elements, and its titles rewritten as synonyms, hinting at the coming fragmentation of language.

Nothing was hidden, yet nothing was named.

The eye motif featured on the cover would later reappear in the inner gatefold of Confusion of Tongues—the expanded version of Babel released exactly one year later. What was a teaser became prophecy. What was simplified would soon collapse into complexity.

This was not an introduction.
It was a warning.
